I'm trying to introduce some new elements to my blog, other than blogging about my teaching life.I guess I can continue blogging about it, but I do need a new focal point in my life, like travelling.

A teacher only talks about her students.
Blearh.

I'm trying to start this travel journal. I guess I will try by writing about my own experiences, please feel free to drop any comments on my tag board, which was kindly installed by dear Miss Lee Wei Qi.

In anycase, I am starting to like teaching a lot.
I feel good when I help a student with his work.
There is this guy in class who was promoted from NT to NA and his chinese is especially weak.

You would think that most people give up on children in certain streams.
The stigma is so deeply ingrained in every single one of us that you would want to think that they are Incurable* in terms of studies.

Guiltily, I was one of them.
Take this student for instance, he didn't know hanyupinyin for his entire life, until I taught him.
That was how I realised that I have made an impact on his life, whichever small way that I did, I had.
Hanyupinyin might be bull to many people, but to him, he was grateful that he finally managed to learn it.

For a kid who loves to sleep, talk and play, he asked me to stay with him after school to go through 1 zuo wen and 1 zuo ye because he didn't know how to read many words.

This is how people succeed.
This is how laziness is defeated.
This is how the threshold of the admirable intelligence and intellectual is surpassed.

I must admit.
I admire him.
There is so much more to learn from this job-from my students.
